We offer three main types of diesel products:
- Biodiesel: This renewable fuel is made from vegetable oils, animal fats, or recycled cooking oils rather than crude oils. It is blended with traditional diesel in various ratios, such as B5 (5% biodiesel, 95% petroleum diesel), B20 (20% biodiesel, 80% petroleum diesel), and B100 (pure biodiesel). Biodiesel is compatible with most modern engines, though some older models may need an upgraded fuel system.
- Clear Diesel: Also called on-road diesel, this is the standard diesel product and meets all EPA requirements for on-road use. It contains no dyes and is held to more strict refining requirements than off-road or dyed diesel.
- Dyed Diesel: This diesel is dyed red to indicate that it is intended for off-road use only. The dye is purely a visual identifier for tax enforcement purposes and poses no impact on the fuel’s performance. It is only legal to use dyed diesel products for off-road applications such as farming, construction machinery, generators, marine vessels, and railroad locomotives. This diesel does not need to meet the same rigorous standards as clear diesel.
